Hello and welcome to my website, sorry it has taken so long to get up and running. I must say a very big thank you to Warren and Julie for building my web site, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have putting it together. How it all started – thirty years ago I was competing at a major show jumping competition at the National Agricultural Centre, at the same time there was a dog show on. Whilst I was warming-up my beloved onetoo (named one too many as he was the last of six foal born in one night – at the racing yard I worked at) I came across these gorgeous huge bears, that was it I was hooked. I spoke to the lady who bred and owned them and immediately went home to research. My parents said NO WAY not till you have moved out !! So the search continued and three weeks after I married Gary we got our first newf Misty. Ann, who we had Misty off said “you will get another, they’re addictive”. How right she was. And So It Began – Three weeks before our first son Sam was born Misty gave birth and we had a gorgeous litter of babies, and three years later three weeks before we had Jack Misty had another litter !!!! Misty looked after us and taught us so much, the boys learnt to walk by hanging on to her. Newfs have the most amazing Temperament, kind, loyal and SO understanding, when we say they get under your skin, you have to own one to believe it. As time went on we were joined by our first and then by Tabitha Twitchin our beautiful white and black girl. How different the three colours are in personality, yet they are all Newfoundland’s. In time we were joined by our pet Labrador Sally, who ate my kitchen (more damage than any Newf has ever done). Sally had a gorgeous litter to Sutton Park Fair Play and in 2006 Sally’s Grandson went Best of Breed at Crufts, we were over the moon. Sally is eleven this year and is still as fit as a fiddle; she lives with us and our Newfs together with our Main Coon Cats and my continued passion for Coloured horses (maybe this is why I love the landseers so much!) Our Aim? To help those interested in owning this wonderful breed, to raise awareness of health issues and promote the hard work that both Newfoundland Club do for the welfare of our beloved Newf. Drool and Dirt go hand in hand with Newfies so they are not for the faint hearted!! Please enjoy our sight, thank you for visiting and if you have any questions please feel free to call us for a newfie chat! Click on photo for full size image |
